1 - Writing It.
So many of our musical journeys begin with a captivating written story. I deeply recognize and honor the profound power of text, and I am tremendously excited to share curated examples of my personal work over the years for your thoughtful consideration.
A fun, interesting fact - the excerpt I have included from my primer entry provides insight about my time attending Howard University. I hope to share more about that story during our time together.
-
2 - Visualizing It.
The most potent messages warrant the most impactful visuals. Throughout my career, I've consistently produced or led the creation of compelling visual content, ensuring vital messages are effectively communicated.
This portfolio opens with three creative flyers, a testament to the early stages of my administrative journey, representing events I spearheaded or collaboratively produced. Following these are square images, showcasing a variety of events and opportunities I've orchestrated within the past three years.

3 - Inspired By It.
My design preferences lean towards modern, clean, and clear elements, balancing a touch of interactive features and bold color splashes.
Despite the showcased brands not being music-focused organizations, they resonate with my internal criteria, a checklist I adhere to when driving my own communication and marketing initiatives. This pursuit for aesthetic and effective messaging underscores my broad-based approach to delivering compelling narratives in the realm of design.

SAVE THE MUSIC
This blog entry was created by me in order to provide an overview of a professional development and networking event hosted by the Save The Music Foundation. I created the iconography used throughout all presentations, arranged for photography and videography, and hosted the Q&A session with stakeholders you can find captured within the post via YouTube.

Entry in Academic Primer
ON REPRESENTATION
The opening of this entry includes a quote from Clyde Taylor, which I have carried with me throughout my career. It goes on to capture the ways in which the power of representation shifted my perspective in the world, and encourages continued progress along that vein in the music industry.

NIVA
I have been really impressed by the work happening with the National Independent Venue Association, and believe their growth can be directly attributed to the bold, clear call to action they’ve undertaken. This corresponds with a vibrant and modern color pallette, and demonstrable work to push for necessary systemic shifts in the industry. They boast a sizable social following as well, which never hurts. I want to buy one of their t-shirts!
BLACKSTAR
Similar to NIVA, this film festival, based in Philadelphia, has grown incredibly rapidly in recent years. I enjoy the interactive nature of their website, the wide ranging topics they present across their social media platforms, and the eye catching hues they use to get the message across. I am a big fan of their use of multimedia assets, though that is not a surprise given the work they do. I would also buy one of their t-shirts.
PS. Speaking of t-shirts, I’d love to share a story about this t-shirt I conceptualized once upon a time.
